I just noticed something, all of my posts in this blog are always on a Saturday. So i decided to post on a Friday, so there! ha!
Now to what I'm supposed to be writing, what happened this week in physics. This week was a roller coaster ride of some sort. Why? I'll tell you why (obviously), Monday new lesson, something about waves, can't really remember. Well anyway there was a quiz, and something unusual happened, something that had never occurred to me in that room happened, I got perfect score. Yay me! *big grin* But as i had anticipated it was too good to last. Tuesday was another lesson, something about the speed, the wavelength and the time. There was another quiz, and I got another zero. Stupid formulas I didn't understand. Grrrr. On a happier note, Wednesday was another day. We were late for the class. Sir gave some sort quiz or seatwork at the start of the class regarding the changing of the formula for speed using force and the mew (is the spelling right?), I got a 4 out of 5, not bad, one mistake due to my short attention span, i didn't write the correct given, stupid me. After that we discussed about the formula, this time with real numbers to calculate with. We had another test at the end of the lesson, this time i got 5 out of 5. Another yay for me! *claps* I'm really starting to get the hang of this. So perfect score to zero to perfect score, quite a roller coaster don't you think so? Yesterday, Thursday we had an activity regarding the constructive interference and destructive interference and had an activity about it which we checked today, and I am proud to say that i got a 25 out of 25. I am really getting good at physics. (Yes naman! Improving ako! Umaasenso!* lol).
Enough of the week, now I'm going to talk about something given as a homework of some sort. Sir Mendoza gave us a link to some downloads such as lectures and simulations, which wasn't working until a while ago when it really opened and i got to download the downloadables (duh). So I'm supposed to write a paper about the nature of light to be submitted on or before the ninth of July. But wait! There's more! On the download i downloaded ( these sentences are getting a bit redundant don't you think?), there were resources, yes resources, sites on the net where we can get some ideas for our paper. I'm planning on checking them out later. Oh! We were also given our project to be submitted on the 27th of July, it's a music video with the theme " Life of Mirror". It really makes me laugh I don;t know why. Just the idea of a music video with mirrors just makes me laugh. :D
Hmmmm, can't think of anything else to write so that's it for today,

I almost forgot, sir mendoza asked us to put the steps on the analytical and
graphical method of getting vectors on our blogs.

So before i forget, here it is:
Component Method
1. To add vector B to vector A, first draw A on a piece of graphing paper
to some scale, such as 1 cm=1 m, and so that its direction is specified
relative a coordinate system.
2. Then draw vector B to the same
scale with the tail of B starting at the tip of A.
3. Vector B must be drawn along the direction that makes
the proper angle relative
vector A.
4. The resultant vector R = A + B is the vector drawn from the
tail of A to the tip of B.

Graphical Method
1. Consider a vector A in a rectangular coordinate system.
A can be expressed as the sum of two vectors: Ax, parallel to the x-axis;
and Ay, parallel to the y-axis.
2. From the definitions of sine and cosine, we see that
cos
= Ax / A and sin = Ay / A, so the components of A are Ax = A cos
and Ay sin. These components form two sides
of a right triangle having
a hypotenuse with magnitude A.

3. To solve for the angle , which is measured from the positive
x-axis by convection,
we can write it in a form: = tan-1 ( Ay / Ax ).

So that's that, til next week!

so here i am for this week's post!
ahhhmmmm....
we started with optics this week and to find out later that we have to follow the course outline which states that we must have waves first before optics.
This week's tests weren't as bad as last week's, i got fairly good scores on my exams. *Yes nmn! improving!*
I really hope that i keep on improving,
the highlight of the week had to be viewing 'physics in everyday life' and seeing mrs. domingo again.
*nyaha.*
Oh! we also had our first activity with the mirror and the pins with the printable protractor thing, which went well.
Aside from that,,, i can't really think of anything else interesting that happened this week.
So til next post!

This week was really frustrating and when i say really, i REALLY mean it.
Something happened for the first time, first quiz-first zero. 'san k dun?'
What's really frustrating is that i really understood the lesson. Yup, i UNDERSTOOD it, so why the zero you ask? This is where the stupid sci cal comes in. I got the right components of the vector but the final resultant magnitude was wrong. The sci. cal gave the wrong answer no matter how many times i calculated it. i later realized that the there was an 'm' instead of a 'd'.Stupid sci cal.
Anyway the following day we were given the make up test. i was really confident that wouldn't screw up., but guess what? i did. I even made a graph of the given. I was SUPER sure of my answer. and then i got it wrong. AGAIN. i can't believe it, but then i saw that instead of going west of north, i went north of west and that made all the difference. screw west of north.
stupid small things. i really hope that i'll learn from my mistakes. Were starting a new lesson next week by the way, its all about optics and properties of light. Should be interesting eh?
I just hope i won't screw as much as i did with vectors.

I will work harder from now on! :D *read my books and everything*
I really hope that my next post will be a lot more cheerful than this one.
Til next post

Hai. It has been a very busy week.
Life is definitely harder this year.

Anyway this blog is supposed to be all about physics, I 'll try to make an entry every week or so.
So this week...
well, there was SOHCAHTOA, I am very proud to say that I now know what those buttons in my sci. cal. do. Yay for me! :D

Then there are vectors, i 'm supposed to do my assignment today, but there is still tomorrow.
I think the first lessons are easy to understand but it is still the first week, I'm supposed to expect a lot of difficulties in this subject based on my grades last year.

I'll try harder. I mean really hard to do well.

I guess that's it.

Til next post!
